Nothing to do...

..nowhere to be, a simple little kind of free.

I'll always liked John Mayer, but I've never loved his stuff. In actuality, up until I really understood it, Your Body is a Wonderland was a song I absolutely hated. One of those "please change the station right NOW" songs. (evanescence's My Immortal will always be that song for me).

But it has grown on me. And his new album, Battle Studies, is awesome. I love it. I love an album when I truly love each and every song. Even though I'm not single, Perfectly Lonely is probably my favorite track. It's so melodic, I have to sing along. Heartbreak Warfare is great more in the sense that I can relate to it, especially this line:

"I don't care if we don't sleep at all tonight,
let's just fix this whole thing now,
I swear to god we're gonna get it right,
if you lay your weapon down."

This is started to sound like a love letter to Mr. Mayer isn't it? I just wanted to express my love for this album. It's so great.

That is all.

Snow Blindness

I don't know about the rest of the world, but here we are going through our 3rd major snowstorm of the winter, which is a rare, if not record breaking event. And while the rest of the city is grumbling and complaining how much they hate snow, I know come summer, I will miss it. Alot. So today means tumbling about in snow banks and enjoying the roads being practically free of cars! No School! No Work!

So it also means Tea Lattes, snuggling up under a mountain of blankets, and being able to finish reading a few good books.

And FYI that last snowspiration image is by Simen Johan, whose work I saw in New York City one year. He is a pretty trippy and surreal photographer and I admire his work, especially this series called "Until the Kingdom Comes"

Ongoing Series

These are from my current project, a fantasy type series focusing on elements of literature I find inspiring. The goal is to create images that aren't obviously referencing any specific story. The peach is not really successful in that aspect, but I like it anyways. I have another image with the face in focus that I almost like better.

These are really fun to do (I'm the model, I enjoy self portraits), except more!

In other news, it is SO DARN COLD OUT.

Brand New!

This is kind of a silly first post for my shiny new blog, but I was just too excited. I finally,
finally, got a pair of yellow rain boots. I can splash in puddles and keep my feet warm and dry, and yellow is the only color I would ever accept for rain boots.

Now if only it would rain...

Ok, boots aside, I look forward to this blog being awesome. That is all.
